France

We first visited Paris for our 20th wedding anniversary in 2014. It was February, our apartment was freezing, we both got sick but none of that mattered – it began our love affair with the City of Light. These days we try to either start or end our annual Europe trip there, because honestly, we just can’t get enough of it. And given the number of times we’ve been there, we’re free now to just have fun.

Recently, Ina Caro’s book “Paris to the Past” has been our go-to guide. Structured around the idea of passing through 1000 years of French history via train or Metro trips (no more than 90 minutes from point to point) is very intriguing. This year we managed two stops – Chantilly and the Basilique Cathédrale de Saint-Denis, next time out, who knows?
